Job description

More About the Role:
Leidos is seeking a Network Engineer execute patch testing, STIG compliance assessments, and lab validation for assigned network infrastructure domain. Work independently with minimal oversight to ensure thorough testing and accurate recommendations supporting 72-hour SLA.

What You'll Get to Do:
Execute comprehensive patch testing in lab environments (standalone, HA, stacks).
Perform quarterly STIG compliance scans and assessments.
Build and maintain lab environments (virtual and hardware).
Document test results and provide deployment recommendations.
Troubleshoot patch failures and coordinate with vendors.
Supervise and mentor junior engineer on testing activities.
Maintain subject matter expertise on 10-15 solution types.
Test 80-100 patches/year in assigned domain (30-35% of team workload).
Complete 50-60 STIG assessments/year.
Maintain lab availability and readiness for assigned solution types.
Accurate patch recommendations - minimize false positives/negatives.
Knowledge transfer through documentation and mentorship.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:
Requires B.S. Degree and 2-4 years network engineering experience (routing, switching, load balancing, firewalls); years of experience can be in lieu of degree.
Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess an active Secret clearance.
Hands-on experience with F5, Cisco, Palo Alto, or similar platforms.
STIG compliance and vulnerability management experience.
Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
CCNA, Security+, or equivalent certifications required.
