Job description

At First Mid, base salary is one component of our Total Rewards program. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as (but not limited to) education, skills, internal equity, and experience. This position offers additional compensation in the form of discretionary short-term incentives (i.e. bonus, incentives, and/or commission). Responsible for activities related to the oversight and monitoring of the Agricultural Merchant Financing loan portfolio, including processing loan applications to finance ag inputs in adherence with bank policy and procedures.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Review, analyze and make accurate credit decisions for loan applications within lending guidelines.
  • Contact credit applicants for additional information and be an internal resource for question escalation.
  • Investigate all available sources of credit and financial information, including credit bureaus and business
  • Review loans on an annual basis to determine renewal eligibility.
  • Keep customer loan files accurate, complete and organized.
  • Attend agricultural trade shows/meetings as needed to promote the product and answer customer questions with possible occasional overnight travel.
  • Prepare reports for Loan Administration Committee.
  • Assist in sending monthly invoices and reports to Ag Merchants.
  • Analyze system and/or merchant problems and respond quickly in a fast paced, demanding environment.
  • Work with system programmers/developers/merchants to design, test, upgrade systems and processes.
  • Monitor and track all daily and monthly Business Analytics reports data and ensure loans are booked properly amp; timely.
  • May be required to work earlier or later than a normal workday during peak seasons.
  • Cross-sells bank products and services in a professional manner.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software, specifically Excel, Word, and Microsoft Office.
  • Formal training in Microsoft Excel preferred
  • Agricultural background preferred, but not required.
Skills:
  • Analytical and detail oriented
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Comfortable working both independently and in a team environment with deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced excel experience preferred.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to interact with customers, peers and other internal departments in a professional manner.
