Job description
- Provides leadership and direction through senior managers
- Must have at least one senior manager level direct report
- Is accountable for the performance and results of a major part of the organization (organization function or significant operational segment within a business unit, or an enterprise-wide organization sub-function)
- Develops and executes strategy to achieve key business objectives
- Decisions are guided by company and functional strategy and objectives
- Consistent exercise of discretion & judgment
- Responsible for strategy and planning to align business operations with the company's mission and goals.
- Researches and analyzes industry and competitive trends to identify emerging market opportunities and strategic areas of interest.
- Identifies and prioritizes product and service improvement opportunities and creates plans for implementation.
- Develops complex forecasting models, budgets, resource allocations, plans for projects and oversees profit and loss alongside company initiatives.
- Utilizes comprehensive knowledge of company's internal operations to develop forward-looking focus for business.
- Owns short to mid-term (1-3 years) strategy execution and operational direction.
- Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination with concurrence from HR & Senior Leadership.
- Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 12-15 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
- Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Other: Proven experience as a General Manager or similar executive role
- Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree
- Discipline/Major: Business degree preferred
- Knowledge, skills & abilities: Experience in planning and budgeting. Knowledge of business process and functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations etc.). Strong analytical ability. Excellent communication skills. Outstanding organizational and leadership skills. Problem-solving aptitude
- Experience within the defense industry with working knowledge of munitions, associated platforms, strategic and tactical systems, and military munitions/platform interface requirements.
- Government contracts experience.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
- Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
- Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.

Plans, coordinates and manages the allocation of resources (e.g., people, equipment) to deliver timely results | May manage the development and implementation of general operating policies, processes and procedures for the organization and lead special projects in multiple areas.
