Job Summary:

Panelmatic is seeking a detail-oriented experienced Mechanical Engineer. The Mechanical Engineer will create/review models and BOM's for power distribution equipment including Metal-Clad Switchgear, Metal-Eclosed Switchgear and Panelboards.   

Job Duties:

  • Review electrical diagrams and requirements from electrical engineering
  • Convert electrical drawings into a mechanical package including elevations, section views and bill of material
  • Provide electrical engineering with mechanical components of drawing package
  • Release bill of material for purchasing and fabrication
  • Receive new product designs, product modifications and implement the new designs/changes into production engineering systems
  • Provide support to manufacturing regarding project questions and issues
  • Interact with electrical engineering, and project management as required
  • Communicate job status, including possible issues, with supervisor

Requirements

  • 1-3 years experience in sheet metal design, with a preference for medium voltage switchgear design or UL891 switchboard
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering degree required
  • Knowledge of the typical mechanical design principles
  • Experience in creating 3D renderings and side views based on single line and elevation drawings
  • Familiarity with ANSI, ASME, NEC and UL standards
  • AutoCAD and SolidWorks experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills required
  • Ability to work in a multi project multitask environment with changing priorities required
  • Analytical abilities and problem-solving skills required
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal required
  • US work authorization without sponsorship required
  • Growth mindset with the ability to accept challenges required
  • Ability to physically push, pull, and lift 50lbs or more required
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for four plus hours at a time required
