We are seeking a skilled and motivated mid-level Traffic Engineer with experience in maintenance of traffic (MOT), signing and pavement markings to support the planning, design, and delivery of transportation projects. This role is ideal for an engineer with 4+ years of experience who is ready to expand technical depth, take ownership of design tasks, and contribute meaningfully to project success.
The Traffic Engineer will work closely with senior engineers, project managers, and clients to deliver thoughtful, high-quality traffic design solutions that improve safety and mobility for communities. 

What are the core responsibilities for the role?
  • Analysis, design, and plan sheet preparation of signing, striping, and MOT/traffic control for interstates, freeways, highways, interchanges, and intersections
  • Prepare clear and accurate studies, technical reports, construction plans, specifications, and estimates from start to finish with minimal oversight
  • Function as a technical specialist on small to mid-scale projects
  •  Coordinate and lead traffic discussions with the project team, clients, and stakeholders
  • Coordinate and work within a team of project managers, design engineers, technicians, and support staff to successfully complete a variety of transportation projects
  • Assist in managing assignments, workloads, and training/mentoring of traffic group staff 
  • Assist in coordination with other managers and leads to share resources

Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies:
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Professional Engineering (PE) licensure
  • 4 - 8 years experience in traffic engineering design with a focus on signing and MOT
  • Knowledge and experience with Bentley ProjectWise, MicroStation, InRoads, OpenRoads, AutoCAD Civil 3D, SignCAD, and other applicable software common to the field of transportation engineering
  • Hands-on experience with Synchro/SimTraffic, Vistro, and/or Vissim preferred
  • Experience in roadway design is preferred
  • Experience with DOT’s plan preparation procedures and standards
  • Experience and understanding of local, regional, state, and federal design criteria
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Self-motivated with solid organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to interact and work cooperatively with client and multi-disciplinary team members
  • A desire to grow personally and professionally with each project while working in a team environment to create designs and drawings supporting our client’s overall project goals
