RIMS Financial Management Application Developer

 

Position Overview

The RIMS Financial Management (RIMS FM) Application Developer will support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of the Reserve Integrated Management System Financial Management application.

RIMS FM is a mission-critical application used to manage funds appropriated to the Naval Reserves and support financial processes and transactions. The application operates in an AWS cloud environment and is built primarily using Java and Oracle technologies.

The ideal candidate will have strong Java development, Oracle PL/SQL, JasperReports, and financial/accounting systems experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, test, and troubleshoot the Java-based RIMS FM application.
  • Design, develop, and maintain Java application components and supporting functionality.
  • Develop and maintain complex Oracle SQL and PL/SQL queries, procedures, and database components.
  • Work with normalized Oracle databases and complex data relationships.
  • Develop, modify, and maintain JasperReports.
  • Support application functionality related to financial transactions and funds management.
  • Troubleshoot application, database, and reporting issues.
  • Work with customers and functional teams to identify requirements and develop technical solutions.
  • Participate in software testing, documentation, and Agile development activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of software design, development, and testing experience.
  • 3+ years of Java development experience.
  • 3+ years of Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development experience.
  • Experience developing complex SQL queries and working with relational database structures.
  • Experience with JasperReports/Jaspersoft.
  • Experience supporting financial or accounting applications/business processes.
  • Understanding of the financial lifecycle, including fund initiation, obligations, and Accounts Payable.
  • Experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XML, or related web technologies.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active DoD Secret clearance.
  • Experience supporting DoD or Federal financial management applications.
  • Experience with Oracle stored procedures, triggers, and SQL optimization.
  • Experience with WebLogic, JSF/PrimeFaces, AWS, Linux/RHEL, Bash scripting, or NetBeans.
  • Experience working directly with customers to identify and troubleshoot application issues.

Certification Requirements

  • CompTIA Security+ within 12 months of employment.
  • Agile Developer or Certified Scrum Developer certification within 18 months of employment.
