Job description

Job Overview: The Technical Instructor Level I/Medical Simulations serves as the on-site Site Lead and delivers individual, collective, and leader training using Army Mission Command Information Systems (MCIS), including Command Post Computing Environment (CPCE), Virtual Battlespace 3 (VBS3), Games for Training (GFT), and low-overhead simulation drivers such as DXTRS. The position serves as the medical training subject matter expert, supports mission command exercises, and measures training effectiveness through post-training assessments and after-action reviews. Support Hours: Applicant shall be available during core work hours as established the Government customer. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: * Serve as the full-time, on-site Site Lead and principal point of contact for daily contract operations, technical requirements, contract compliance, workforce management, and coordination with the Contracting Officer and Contracting Officer's Representative.
* Maintain authority to act on contract matters related to daily operations and be available during normal operating hours within 45 minutes of notification to meet in person or by phone with Government site leads, the KO, or COR.
* Deliver instruction using MCIS and GFT technology in accordance with Army Programs of Instruction, lesson plans, and approved instruction and education methods while serving as the medical training SME to other MCIS trainers.
* Use graphics, windowing, animation, feedback, branch planning, slide decks, simulation storyboards, and scenario decision trees when designing and coordinating instruction.
* Train Soldiers, leaders, and staffs in warrior tasks, battle drills, MCIS, warfighting functions, and medical operations and processes through individual and collective training.
* Develop and maintain training rosters, student feedback forms, evaluation rubrics, training matrices, multimedia courseware, scenario scripts, and other required instructional documentation.
* Assist the Training Support Team with planning and preparation for mission command training and exercises, including MSEL injects, system configuration checklists, and pre-exercise communication and system checks.
* Operate supported-unit MCIS and provide over-the-shoulder training and coaching to unit MCIS operators, with specific expertise in medical gaming and simulation capabilities.
* Develop coaching logs, technical SOPs, quick-reference guides, and other resources for unit operators.
* Serve as an MCIS and Gaming Instructor SME to other MCIS trainers at JBSA and document train-the-trainer and peer cross-training activities.
* Cross-train and maintain proficiency on additional Army MCIS and simulations supporting individual through collective training.
* Support EXCON, HICON, response cell operations, command-post exercises, institutional training, and after-action reviews in accordance with current doctrine and the Decisive Action Training Environment/Operational Environment.
* Prepare AAR materials, post-exercise training effectiveness reports, EXCON/HICON logs, instructor certification records, and weekly or monthly status inputs.
* Submit required deliverables to the Primary Program POC and COR in the Government-approved format and within the required timeline.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
Competencies: * Army MCIS, medical simulations, and Games for Training expertise.
* Instructor delivery, facilitation, and over-the-shoulder coaching.
* Medical operations and Battalion-or-higher command-post training.
* Exercise planning, EXCON/HICON support, and after-action review development.
* Instructional design, multimedia courseware, evaluation, and training documentation.
* Leadership, workforce supervision, customer coordination, and contract compliance.
* Clear written and verbal communication, organization, and attention to detail. Minimum Requirements/Education: * Bachelor's degree in Management, Business Administration, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
* Three years of experience managing projects or programs of similar size, scope, and complexity.
* Minimum of 10 years of supervisory experience.
* Background and experience in military training and training support, including operations and training requirements at a Major Army Command, Brigade, or higher level.
* In-depth knowledge of training simulators, constructive simulations, gaming, and the Army Mission Command Training Support Program.
* Completion of Command and General Staff College, the Brigade Commander/Command Sergeant Major Course, or equivalent-level military schooling.
* Completion of the U.S. Army Senior Leader Course or higher.
* Completion of a formal course on one or more U.S. Army MCIS.
* Two or more years of military training or instructional experience.
* Subject matter expertise in one or more medical MCIS, tools, and training simulations, specifically S2MC, MC4, AHLTA, JMeWS/MSAT, and SMDS.
* Experience with the operations and training requirements of a Multifunctional Medical Battalion or a Role II-capable Medical Company.
* Experience with operations and training requirements for a Battalion-or-higher command post.
* U.S. Citizenship is required for this position due to government contract requirements.
Preferred Skills: * Background in medical plans, operations, or training management.
* Military service in areas comparable to the required qualifications.
* Deployment experience supporting a Multifunctional Medical Battalion or Role II-capable Medical Company.
* Familiarity with Army training, operations, TADSS, and MCIS.
* Experience using VBS3 and DXTRS to stimulate MCIS individual and collective training.
* Knowledge of Brigade and Battalion staff and NCO-led processes in Combined Arms Training Strategies execution.
* SharePoint or other collaboration-tool experience.
