Job description

  • Design of RF microwave components and phased array applications
  • Develop insights that extend your knowledge in the RF/Microwave field and form the basis of new concepts, theories, and products.
  • Design and/or test MMIC or module products and test fixtures at RF/microwave frequencies
  • Integration and test of component level and system level phased array hardware
  • Some travel to integration sites, plus customer and subcontractor facilities, may be required.
Requirements
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
  • Experience in Microwave/RF system, subsystem and component analysis, design and test.
  • Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools such as HFSS, ADS, CST, Genesys and Mentor Graphics’ Xpedition Cadence Virtuso, and analytical tools such as Matlab.
  • Experience performing basic RF calculations and Cascaded Analysis.
  • Background designing and testing analog CCAs, including frequency conversion, automatic gain control, amplifier design and analog filter design.
  • Experience in electrical interconnects and transmission line design.
  • Understanding of RF layout techniques from HF to X-Band.
  • Understanding of EMI analysis and mitigation techniques.
  • Propensity for learning through self-study and being comfortable in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Understanding of allocating and flowing down requirements from the system to the component level.
  • Experience designing RF/Microwave MMIC circuits, modules or test fixtures.
  • Experience with GaAs and/or GaN MMIC devices.
  • Experience with integrated circuit layout and physical verification using Cadence Virtuoso software tools.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor processing and concepts, e.g. technologies like GaAs, GaN, SOI.
  • Strong academic background that includes courses in: Microwave Engineering, Microwave Systems, Electromagnetic Theory and Radar Systems.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with microwave testing techniques, including using spectrum analyzers, Real‑time Spectrum Analyzers (RSAs), Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs) and Performance Network Analyzer (PNAs).
  • Experience in technical writing, proposal writing, and oral presentations.
