We are seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineer II with a strong passion for analog, digital, and RF circuit design to help advance both legacy and next-generation CNS aviation products. In this role, you will directly influence the architecture, performance, and reliability of systems operating in some of the most demanding environments in aerospace. The ideal candidate is self-driven, detail-oriented, and brings excellent communication skills along with a proven ability to collaborate effectively across multifunctional and multidisciplinary teams. Success in this position requires strong technical curiosity, flexibility, and the ability to coordinate seamlessly with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to achieve shared program goals.
This is an onsite position in Melbourne, Florida.
What You Will Do:
  • Provide design and engineering support for CNS sustainment products, with opportunities to contribute to new product development.
  • Collaborate across interdisciplinary teams-including power, digital, mechanical, systems, and manufacturing-to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Managing component obsolescence identification and mitigation
  • Troubleshooting hardware and process issues down to circuit card assembly (CCA)/Module and component levels to include analog/digital/RF/power circuitry and interfaces.
  • Support transition-to-production activities and provide hands-on troubleshooting and technical support for production teams.
  • Perform schematic capture and design documentation
  • Investigate failure trends for root cause and implement corrective actions.
  • Use your strong communication skills to present technical information clearly and effectively.
  • Be self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities to meet deadlines.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
  • Must be a U.S. Person - Military contract stipulates the candidates must be U.S. Persons.
  • Proficiency in electrical engineering fundamentals including troubleshooting, analysis, and test.
  • Hands-on experience with engineering tools and test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, network analyzers, and power meters.
  • Experience with schematic capture tools and the ability to interpret complex schematics.
  • Proven ability to lead or influence technical efforts within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated success working in collaborative team environments.

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Proficiency in SPICE simulation tools such as LTSPICE, PSPICE, TINA, etc.
  • Knowledge of avionics product lines such as TCAS, Transponders and Weather Radar.
  • Experience with Mentor Graphics Xpedition or similar ECAD
  • Understand the aspects of various aviation industry qualification standards, such as DO-160, DO-254, and meeting requirements of TSO submissions.
  • Experience with Environmental Conditions and Test Procedures for Airborne Equipment (RTCA/DO-160 or MIL-STD-461).
  • Background in microwave/RF systems, subsystems, or component-level design and test.
  • Proficiency with electromagnetic simulation and analytical tools such as HFSS, ADS, Microwave Office, and MATLAB.
  • Experience translating system-level requirements into hardware specifications, design artifacts, and test plans.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify creative, technically sound solutions to complex challenges.
  • Experience developing technical proposals and delivering formal technical presentations.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
