Job description

Job Summary

The Senior RF Engineer plays a critical role in understanding customer needs, translating them into technical requirements, and leading multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver complex, cost-effective system solutions. This role applies systems engineering principles across the full lifecycle—from concept through deployment—while balancing technical performance, schedule, and value.

The Senior Systems Engineer works closely with customers, commercial stakeholders, and engineering teams to define, architect, integrate, and deliver high-performance measurement and test systems. Success in this role requires technical leadership across engineering, business, and customer-facing activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead systems engineering activities from requirements definition through final system acceptance
  • Translate customer needs into system requirements, architectures, and technical solutions
  • Coordinate and lead cross-functional engineering teams to deliver integrated systems
  • Identify, select, and specify RF and microwave equipment and components to meet performance and market requirements
  • Analyze and characterize RF components to ensure compliance with system-level performance objectives
  • Develop system-level block diagrams, cable diagrams, and bills of material
  • Perform system performance analysis and verification of RF configurations
  • Develop and execute test procedures to validate system performance
  • Conduct system checkout, RF testing, validation, and error analysis
  • Support factory integration, system testing, and on-site commissioning
  • Prepare system documentation, operating manuals, and technical user guides
  • Support system installation, customer training, and technical handoff

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Physics
  • Strong experience with RF and microwave system design, specification development, and performance analysis
  • Working knowledge of systems engineering methodologies and design processes
  • Ability to analyze diverse RF/microwave measurement requirements and deliver complex, integrated systems
  • Experience designing and solving complex technical system-level problems
  • Proven experience supporting proposals, customer engagement, and system trade studies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across engineering, business, and customer teams
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States and eligibility to access export-controlled technical information
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (approximately 25%)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong background in microwave antenna systems and measurement techniques
  • Familiarity with industry-standard analytical and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB or equivalent)
  • Hands-on experience with antenna or RF measurement test environments
  • Knowledge of mechanical positioning or motion control systems
