Job description

MBA Consulting Services, Inc. (MBA CSi) is seeking a MicroStrategy Developer to support Business Intelligence (BI) reporting solutions for the United States Postal Service (USPS). The primary responsibility of this role is to convert and migrate existing SAP Crystal Reports 4.3 reports into MicroStrategy reports and dashboards, helping modernize reporting capabilities within USPS enterprise systems.
This role will focus on recreating legacy reporting functionality in the MicroStrategy platform while ensuring accuracy, usability, and performance for business stakeholders. The developer will work closely with engineers, analysts, and program stakeholders in an Agile development environment to successfully transition legacy reporting assets to a modern BI platform used by USPS leadership and technical teams.
This role is based on site at the USPS Engineering Systems Headquarters in Merrifield, VA. After several months of onsite work, 1 day per week of telework is approved.
Responsibilities
  • Migrate and convert SAP Crystal Reports 4.3 reports into MicroStrategy reports, documents, and interactive dossiers.
  • Analyze existing Crystal Reports to understand business logic, calculations, parameters, and report structures prior to migration.
  • Recreate legacy reporting functionality within the MicroStrategy platform while maintaining report accuracy and usability.
  • Develop interactive reports and dashboards using MicroStrategy Developer and MicroStrategy Web tools.
  • Work with Oracle databases using PL/SQL to support report functionality and ensure data accuracy.
  • Validate migrated reports by comparing MicroStrategy outputs with original Crystal Reports to ensure functional parity.
  • Troubleshoot report issues, resolve data discrepancies, and optimize report performance within MicroStrategy.
  • Manage and migrate MicroStrategy objects and reporting components using MicroStrategy Object Manager.
  • Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders in an Agile development environment to prioritize and deliver reporting solutions.
  • Document migration processes, report specifications, and technical configurations to support long-term system maintenance.

Requirements
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
  • At least 5 years of experience developing reports using MicroStrategy tools.
  • Demonstrated experience migrating SAP Crystal Reports to MicroStrategy or another modern BI platform.
  • Strong experience with Oracle databases and PL/SQL.
  • Experience developing MicroStrategy reports, documents, and dossiers using MicroStrategy Developer tools.
  • Experience managing and migrating MicroStrategy objects using Object Manager.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel (pivot tables), Access, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
  • Ability to work flexible hours when needed.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Preferred Qualifications
  • MicroStrategy certification or status as a MicroStrategy Certified Professional.
  • Experience supporting federal government or federal contractor environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance-optimization skills for enterprise BI platforms.
