Toyoda Gosei North America (headquartered in Troy, MI) has an opening for a Senior Software Engineer (Cloud and AI) in the Computer Information System (CIS) department. The Senior Software Engineer (Cloud and AI) is a senior, hands-on technical contributor responsible for designing, developing, evaluating, and validating modern software, cloud, integration, automation, and AI-enabled solutions across Toyoda Gosei (TG) North America Corporation (TGNA) and TGNA Manufacturing Companies (AMCs).


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test, and maintain secure, scalable, and maintainable enterprise solutions using technologies including C#, modern .NET, ASP.NET Core, Python, REST APIs, relational databases, and Microsoft Azure.
• Design and implement Azure-native applications and services, selecting appropriate compute, integration, messaging, data, identity, security, storage, networking, and observability capabilities based on business and technical requirements.
• Develop generative AI and agentic AI solutions that combine large language models, enterprise data, tools, APIs, business workflows, retrieval, and human oversight to solve specific business and operational problems.
• Build and evaluate solutions using Microsoft Azure AI technologies such as Microsoft Foundry, Azure OpenAI, agent development frameworks, or comparable enterprise AI platforms, as appropriate to the business problem.
• Participate in business and manufacturing discovery activities, including direct engagement with users and operations teams, to understand current processes, constraints, root causes, data availability, risks, and desired outcomes after selecting technology solutions.
• Design and develop APIs, services, event-driven integrations, and integration components connecting enterprise applications, cloud services, manufacturing systems, data platforms, and external solutions.
• Apply strong solution architecture and systems-thinking principles across application, integration, data, cloud, security, infrastructure, operational support, and lifecycle considerations.
• Support integrations with enterprise and manufacturing platforms including ERP (JDE/SAP), MES, WMS, SCADA, industrial data sources, and shop-floor systems where applicable.
• Support Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), connected manufacturing, smart factory, and Industry 4.0 initiatives where software, cloud, data, integration, automation, or AI capabilities are required.
• Mentor junior developers and promote modern software engineering practices.
• Drive optimization by being actively engaged in continuous improvement efforts (kaizen)
• This role requires the completion of other duties as assigned


Required Education, Experience, and Skills
Certifications and Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems or related field, or equivalent years of experience is required

Experience

• 4 to 8 Years of experience in Software Development are required
• 4 to 8 years of developing applications using C# and .Net
• Previous experience developing with Python
• Previous experience designing and developing with Microsoft Azure
• Hands on exposure developing generative AI, AI-Assisted, or Agentic AI Applications

• Experience with manufacturing systems such as: MES, ERP, SCADA, PLC communication
