About The Role

Are you passionate about data and innovation? Monogram Foods is looking for a Data Engineer to join our IT team, supporting our co-manufacturing, private label and foodservice channels across the United States. In this role, you will build data processing pipelines and analytics solutions using Azure cloud tools, transform data, detect and extract changes and create models for business insights. This position requires collaboration with business analysts and stakeholders to meet their data needs. Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ingest data from various sources using Azure Data Factory and Fabric Data Pipelines.
  • Monitor and optimize ETL processes and data pipelines for performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, stakeholders and other teams to understand their data needs.
  • Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures and views to support data processing and reporting requirements.
  • Migrate data and processes to Microsoft Fabric to leverage its advanced data management and analytics capabilities.
  • Develop Microsoft Fabric notebooks and data solutions using SQL, Python, PySpark, Markdown and HTML for data processing, documentation and internal project outputs.
  • Leverage AI assistance to accelerate development, documentation and troubleshooting of Python notebooks in Microsoft Fabric.
  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation, including Markdown files, notebook explanations, data pipeline notes, business rules, source-to-target mappings and project knowledge articles.
  • Build lightweight internal micro sites, HTML pages or project pages to improve visibility, documentation and adoption of data initiatives.

Education & Experience:

  • The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, mathematics, or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in data engineering or analytics. 
  • Proficiency with Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Analytics, and SQL Server is required. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric is a plus. 
  • The candidate should also be skilled in programming languages such as SQL, Python, or Scala, and possess knowledge of parallel processing and data architecture patterns. 
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.
  • Must be 18 years or older.

Competencies & Skills:

  • Strong expertise in Aure Data Factory, Azure SQL and SQL Server.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python and/or Scala for data processing and analytics.
  • Experience with Logic Apps, Azure Storage, REST APIs
  • Ability to use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to improve productivity, code quality and documentation.
  • Experience building simple internal web pages, micro sites or project portals to support communication and knowledge sharing.
  • Strong documentation habits, including the ability to explain technical solutions, data flows, business logic and support procedures in a clear and reusable format.
