Job description

Leading architectural and engineering firm is adding a Senior Engineering Project Manager to their Milwaukee team!



Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate in evaluation of project requirements
  • Assist with negotiation of agreement including fee and time schedule
  • Develop discipline cost and work-hour budgets for each project
  • Monitor project costs and completion status against budget schedules/timelines
  • Oversee all correspondence/pertinent documents
  • Coordinate review/evaluation of contractor bids
  • Provide day-to-day leadership as needed
  • Assist with preparation of client billings prior to submittal for signature
  • Participate in client interviews and development of proposals
  • Write scopes of work for engineering design based on preliminary review/meetings with the client
  • Prepare/present complex engineering analysis clearly
  • Research non-routine code issues and obtain interpretations from code officials
  • Manage the production of engineering sketches and system schematics for complicated design tasks such as layout of engineering equipment
  • Prepare engineering opinion of probable cost for engineering systems/review contractor cost estimates
  • Prepare addendum/change orders
  • Review drawings/documents to assure compliance with company design and production standards
  • Develop/maintain a thorough understanding of construction processes and delivery methods (LEAN, IPD and design build contracts)
  • Mentor/train junior staff


Requirements:

  • Bachelors or Masterโ€™s degree in Architectural Engineering or Engineering
  • 12+ years of experience
  • 5+ years of experience designing engineering systems
  • PE registration preferred
  • Knowledge of current technology, IES, LEED and ASHRAE guidelines and all applicable codes, (city, state, federal)
  • Working knowledge of building engineering systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites and AutoCAD
  • Working knowledge of Revit
