With over 60 years of experience, AMS has grown from a small refrigeration contractor into a multi-discipline, multi-market MEP contractor with more than 1,000 employees. We are committed to meeting our clients' needs, developing our people, and strengthening the communities we serve.
Located in Mount Pleasant, WI and reporting to the Project Executive, we are seeking a highly organized and hands-on Shop Manager to oversee daily operations at our Wisconsin shop. This role is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, maintenance, and distribution of tools, equipment, and materials. The Shop Manager partners closely with project managers, field teams, and logistics personnel to ensure efficient operations and a safe, clean, and well-maintained facility.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations.
  • Maintain organization, cleanliness, and safety standards throughout the shop.
  • Track and maintain accurate records of all inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Stage tools, materials, and equipment for daily jobsite deliveries.
  • Package shipments, generate labels, and coordinate with appropriate freight carriers.
  • Unload deliveries in a timely and safe manner.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with vendors and delivery personnel.
  • Ensure proper and safe use of warehouse tools and equipment.
  • Manage preventive maintenance and repair programs for tools, specialty equipment, and safety gear.
  • Coordinate with administrative staff to track costs, repairs, and inventory records.
  • Perform functional testing of specialty and power tools to ensure readiness and compliance.

Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training is a plus.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with construction tools and equipment.
    • Strong working knowledge of construction tool operations, maintenance, and safety practices.
    • Previous warehouse or shop management experience preferred.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
    • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate records.

Compensation:
    • $53,000 - $60,000 annually
