Robert Half client is looking for a detail-oriented Contract Administrator to support public works and capital improvement initiatives in Martinez, CA. This Long-term Contract position will manage essential contract administration activities, help maintain compliance documentation, and provide administrative coordination across project teams. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, construction-related administrative experience, and confidence working with Microsoft Office applications in a fast-paced environment.
Contract Administrator Responsibilities:
• Oversee contract administration tasks for public works projects, ensuring required bonds, insurance records, licenses, and related documents are complete and up to date.
• Prepare and assemble contract packages using approved templates while maintaining accuracy and consistency across project documentation.
• Track contract spending and assist with financial monitoring to help projects remain aligned with budget expectations.
• Coordinate with Risk Management and project staff to support contract compliance and timely resolution of documentation issues.
• Provide day-to-day administrative support for capital improvement project delivery, including data entry, document management, and project coordination.
• Assist with subcontract-related records and maintain organized files for agreements, compliance materials, and supporting correspondence.
• Support communication with internal teams and external contractors by responding to inquiries and helping route contract-related information appropriately.

• Experience in administrative support, contract coordination, or office operations within a construction or public works environment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications used for documentation and tracking.
• Ability to manage detailed records, perform accurate data entry, and maintain organized contract files.
• Familiarity with subcontract documentation and contract compliance processes is strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting project coordination activities and handling multiple priorities with strong attention to detail.
• Knowledge of California public works contracting practices is highly desirable.
• Understanding of certified payroll compliance and Department of Industrial Relations requirements is preferred.
