Job description

Summary
The Technical Trainer will develop, provide and coordinate world-class training solutions for Enerflex personnel and customers. They will work to ensure each learner gains the necessary skills and competencies, contributing to training and organizational initiatives, employee growth and retention, customer satisfaction and retention, cost control, and overall organizational performance and productivity. They are responsible for ensuring Enerflex-administered training meets or exceeds the expectations of our internal and external customers. Technical training, where information retention is the focus, is required to ensure learners can positively impact safe work, quality of work, completion time, and operational cost reduction. The Technical Trainer will be the example regarding safe work and will champion the Enerflex values of integrity, commitment, creativity, and success at all times.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties
Under the supervision of the Technical Training Advisor, the successful candidate can expect to:
  • Champion the Enerflex Foundational Principles of Training used throughout training development and delivery.
  • Collaborate with SMEs, engineers, trainers, and OEMs to research information used in content development.
  • Take a training topic from concept to vetted, real-world course content for In-Person Instructor led, VILT (Virtual Instructor Led), and eLearning offerings.
  • Work in MS Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, and Articulate Storyline 360 to compile and create storylines, scripts, presentations, lesson plans, worksheets, assessments, graphics, videos, audio, e-learning courses, etc.
  • Work in Absorb LMS (Enerflex Learning Xchange), creating and tuning a course, uploading e-learning content, and the beta testing and vetting process.
  • Be the principal beta tester and corrections editor of eLearning content for accuracy and the best learner experience before release.
  • Exhibit advanced skills in and be willing to learn the Enerflex way for training delivery, classroom control, and information retention management.
  • Build rapport with internal and external customers as a supporting and go-to partner for all things training.
  • Communicate clearly with internal and external customers regarding training needs, inquiries, schedules, etc.

Mentor and coach learners in the field as needed.
Other Responsibilities:
  • Support training aid preparations required for courses
  • Participate in, observe, and eventually lead all venues for technical training courses
  • Travel as needed to training venues
  • Attend training and mentoring sessions with the Technical Training Advisor for required skill-building in training development and delivery.

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of direct experience in the gas compression and/or process refrigeration industry
  • Must be dependable, highly motivated, self-directed
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are a must
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Strong verbal and communication skills
  • Strong aptitude for learning new skills
  • Strong aptitude for computer technology
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office

Physical Requirements
Fast-paced general office environment. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity. Domestic and international travel is possible on occasion.
