Job description

Position Summary:

The DevOps Engineer will design, implement, and maintain automation solutions that streamline software delivery and infrastructure management. This role requires strong expertise in cloud technologies, networking, virtualization, and scripting to support client s hybrid environment and cloud-first strategy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement containerization and serverless technologies to optimize application scalability and performance.
  • Manage and monitor cloud environments (preferably Microsoft Azure) ensuring security, compliance, and cost efficiency.
  • Automate operational tasks using scripting languages (PowerShell required; Python, Bash preferred).
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to enhance system reliability and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to networking, virtualization, and cloud services.
  • Maintain documentation for processes, configurations, and best practices.

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field from an accredited college/university.

Relevant Experience:

  • 3-plus years of experience in DevOps or related roles.
  • Proven track record in cloud automation and infrastructure as code.
  • Proven work experience with CI/CD pipelines for application deployment and infrastructure automation.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Deep understanding of general IT Infrastructure.
  • Deep understanding of software development life cycle.
  • Ability to learn and leverage relevant new technologies.
  • Ability to collaborate with agile team members and IT team to successfully complete software deployment.
  • Ability to support application production troubleshooting.
  • Ability to provide leadership concise updates on software systems.
  • Cloud Expertise: proven work experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud.
  • Networking: strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, firewalls, and load balancing.
  • Virtualization: experience with VMware or Hyper-V environments.
  • Scripting: proficiency in PowerShell; familiarity with Python, Bash, or other languages.
  • Automation & Containerization: hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and serverless frameworks.
  • CI/CD Tools: knowledge of Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms.
