As a Field Service Engineer at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll contribute to delivering excellent service for sophisticated Electron Microscopy analytical and scientific instruments. Working with customers across research, industrial, and healthcare settings, you'll install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex equipment while providing exceptional customer service. This position offers opportunities to work with advanced technology while contributing to scientific advancement and innovation.

A Day in the Life:
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair advanced Electron Microscopy instrumentation at customer sites. Provide technical support and customer training, perform preventive maintenance, diagnose complex hardware and software issues, document service activities, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and instrument performance.

What to expect:

  • Install and commission Electron Microscopy systems at customer sites.

  • Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs.

  • Troubleshoot electronic, mechanical, vacuum, and high-voltage systems.

  • Deliver exceptional customer service and technical support.

  • Train customers on proper equipment operation and maintenance.

  • Document service activities and prepare detailed service reports.

  • Collaborate with technical support and engineering teams to resolve complex issues.

  • Travel throughout the assigned territory of Sevilla and Cádiz (50–75%).

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Advanced Degree with no prior experience required, or Bachelor's Degree plus 2 years of hands-on technical experience installing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex analytical instruments.

  • Preferred fields of study include Electronics, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.

  • Additional relevant certifications are advantageous.

Experience

  • Experience installing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex analytical instruments.

  • Experience with ultra-high vacuum systems and high-voltage equipment preferred.

  • Experience documenting service activities and preparing detailed reports.

  • Demonstrated success in achieving high levels of customer satisfaction.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong electronics and mechanical troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose issues to component level.

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and service management software.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and schematics.

  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.

  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in laboratory environments.
