Job description

CD&D H&W Probiotic Lab Manager, Kennesaw
Job Purpose: 
  • Coordinate and supervise the CD&D Health & Wellness Application Science Laboratory in Kennesaw.
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of laboratory trials to support the qualification of new ingredients within the Biotic platform, including the validation of applications for the Health & Wellness portfolio with a focus on Microbiome solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across CD&D, including Commercial, Research & Development, Marketing, and Product Development, to ensure effective alignment and project delivery.
  • Contribute to the development of technical know-how and application science materials across various application areas in human and animal health, covering multiple market segments such as food, beverages, pet products, and particularly dietary supplements.
Main Responsibilities: 
  • Supervise and coordinate the CD&D H&W Team based in ADM Kennesaw.
  • Coordinate and execute the CD&D assessment actions in the laboratory at Kennesaw, including stability trials, qualification of new ingredients, validation of new applications, reproduction of manufacturing processes, DS pilot trials, etc.
  • Work and communicate cross-functions (E.g. Business, Platform, R&D, CD&D, Marketing, Regulatory) to ensure the readiness of the new ingredients within Biotic Platform. 
  • Alignment with R&D team for the transference and optimization of new methodologies and procedures.
  • Actively work with commercial team to support customer projects involving H&W ingredients that require laboratory testing.
  • Provide support in global projects within CD&D H&W, for DS, F&B and PET/PAW segments. 
 
Skills & Abilities: 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Planner) and statistical analysis software.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills with a focus on objectives.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions.
  • Innovative mindset with strong creative problem-solving abilities
Education & Experience: 
  • University degree in Food Science and Technology, Biotechnology, Biology, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of proven experience working with food supplement dosage formats or products within the food, beverage, or feed industry. Previous experience in R&D, particularly in projects involving bacterial applications or characterization, will be valued.
  • Solid knowledge of Microbiology, Microscopy, and Molecular Biology techniques.
  • Experience in coordinating laboratory trials and setting up stability studies in finished applications containing microbiome ingredients.
