Job Summary:

  • Responsible, under minimal supervision, to provide technical analysis of the mobile device launched in North America, especially for cases of product liability. Assist in the concept, development, preparation and critical review of technical reports, technical documents, test procedures, user guides, installation and maintenance manuals. Using common Project Management principles, this role will manage multiple projects, update required reports and keep management apprised of all defect symptoms.
  • Individual contributor representing the most common entry point for this career level. Learns to use theoretical professional concepts and applies company established practices and processes to deliver work under general supervision.
  • Perform daily failure analysis of all of the mobile device related with product liability claims and safety, which utilize analytical equipment such as X-Ray/CT machine, digital microscope and overheating test equipment. And identifies potential improvements to product design as well as repair serviceability constraints during reverse engineering analysis.
  • Provides detailed analysis and report to R&D based on findings. Collaborate with engineering team to improve next generation repair productivity and to enhance the quality of product performance.
  • Communicate with related management team to ensure and investigate user environment causing related defective symptom. Interfaces with Product Management to deliver product condition and specification. Identifies potential performance problems and disseminates pertinent technical and repair information to appropriate personnel.
  • Shares improvements and experiences in product troubleshooting, failure analysis, diagnostics and repair techniques with repair technician team members and supervisors, to improve repair productivity and future designs which will enhance the quality of product performance. Using relevant technologies (X-Ray, CT, SEM, EDS) perform electronics testing.
  • Perform scene and laboratory inspections outside office.

Background/Requirements:

  • English/Korean bilingual.
  • Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics Engineering or Analytics
  • At least three year experience with selection, maintenance and application of electronic and test equipment (spectrum analyzers, X-Ray, CT, Digital microscope) preferred.
  • Prior experience in the mobile industry preferred. Strong Project Management skills and the ability to prioritize in a complex working environment. Comprehensive use of Microsoft Office applications operating in a Windows XP or NT LAN/WAN environment. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects.
  • The ability to development and maintain excellent working relationships with multiples levels within the company and with external contacts including customers, authorized service agents, sales & equipment service representatives, etc.
  • Must be able to influence others in acceptance, approval and to provide technical clarification.
  • The ability to gather and analyze data from multiple sources, prepare spreadsheets, charts, graphs and tables of information and to plan and prioritize multiple work assignments.
  • The ability to read, provide written critical technical review and prepare reports, technical manuals, test procedures and technical product repair information. Demonstrated English language competency in both oral and written communication modes for both internal and external communications.
  • Work under very little supervision and guidance to identify and ensure achievement of production team goals and to complete individual work assignments within established time frames.
  • The demonstrated ability to solve complex problems involving highly diverse conditions, requiring creativity to search for solutions among learned things. Exposed to situations where only broad and general guidelines for solving problems exist. Job duties require analysis and judgment of functional practices and daily experiences be used to determine appropriate courses of action.

Necessary Skills / Attributes:

  • Work generally performed in an office, lab, or user environment.
  • May operate PC and product test equipment between 50% - 100% in an alternating sedentary and highly mobile position. Lift, move, or adjust general test equipment, boxes, supplies, materials or products.
  • High level of visual acuity, numeric/character distinction and moderate color distinction for accurate test equipment operation, for information analysis and error recognition. High hand/finger dexterity with fine motor coordination skills to perform electronic component repair work.
  • Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids representative and commonly associated with electronic component test, assembly and repair work including test equipment, testing devices, technician hand tools, cables, etc; first aid kit is available and prescription safety glasses are required in certain test areas.
  • May require working additional hours beyond normal schedule. Travel varies depending on position. Consistently demonstrates a commitment to policies and procedures, including but not limited to, attendance, confidentiality, conflict of interest, and ethical responsibilities.
