Job description

Micro-Assembly Technician
Location: Santa Rosa, CA
Schedule: Full-Time | Day Shift (Start Time Between 6:00 AM - 8:00 AM)
Pay: $30.00-$33.00 per hour DOE

Essential Responsibilities
  • Assemble precision microelectronic components and assemblies following detailed work instructions.
  • Interpret manufacturing process documentation, schematics, diagrams, and assembly instructions.
  • Work with ultra-small components using microscopes and precision hand tools.
  • Perform electronics assembly, cabling, soldering, and mechanical assembly.
  • Help ensure products meet quality standards and are capable of reliable production.
  • Support Manufacturing Engineering by evaluating manufacturability of new products and providing Design for Manufacturing (DFM/DFx) recommendations.
  • Assist with introducing new processes, fixtures, and programs for microelectronic assembly.
  • Identify manufacturing issues and participate in root cause analysis to improve quality and prevent recurring failures.
  • Improve manufacturing processes to maximize efficiency, productivity, and product quality.
  • Maintain clean workstations and equipment while following safety and quality procedures.
  • Accurately document production activities using computer-based manufacturing systems.
  • Prioritize multiple assignments while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Work independently while collaborating effectively with engineering and production teams.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • 2-4 years of experience in micro-assembly or precision electronic manufacturing.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Experience assembling precision electronic or microelectronic components.
  • Previous experience with electronics, cabling, soldering, and precision assembly.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, symbols, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Comfortable using computers to retrieve assembly instructions, diagrams, and production information.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to follow detailed verbal and written instructions.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience operating or programming one or more of the following automated microelectronics assembly systems:
  • GPD Dispense Equipment
  • MRSI Component Placement Systems
  • H&K Bonding Equipment
Experience with automated microelectronics assembly equipment is highly desirable.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Ability to use a microscope for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to frequently use fine motor skills and precision hand movements.
  • Ability to stoop, bend, and reach throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds multiple times throughout the day.
  • Excellent vision and hand-eye coordination for handling miniature components.
