This position is part of Novanta's ATI Industrial Automation business unit. ATI is the world's leading developer of robotic end of arm technologies. Summary
In this position you will be responsible for electrical and mechanical assembly of ATI's Force / Torque products.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical assembly of ATI F/T products using specified tooling.
  • Operate test equipment including environmental chambers, leak testers, ohmmeter, voltmeter, and a variety of other equipment.
  • Participate in assembly line builds utilizing one piece flow.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing principles for daily continuous improvement activities.

General Tasks
  • Strict compliance with the quality, occupational safety and environmental regulations.
  • Implementation of the instructions of the quality / environmental management representative and the occupational safety specialist.

Required Experience, Education, Skills, Training and Competencies
  • Must be willing to learn. This person will need to have an attitude of always willing to learn something new.
  • Read and communicate in English.
  • Computer skills; Windows navigation, Word to view files, enter data in Excel, PowerPoint to view files, Outlook for email communication and calendar, Teams for communications, ERP system navigation, view PDF files, and ability to operate custom test software.
  • Electro-mechanical assembly skills.
  • Ability to solder small components using magnification with both magnifier and microscope preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret various forms of documentation including assembly drawings and work instructions.
  • Follow established procedures.

  • No travel required.

Physical Requirements
  • Good vision and willingness to use magnification and microscope.
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds.
