Relay Settings Engineer
Purpose
You will provide electrical engineering services on large or mega projects to Worley' and its customers', including technical support and supervision within the electrical engineering team.
Responsibilities:
  • Work with protection engineers and perform quality reviews of relay setting packages
  • Create logic diagrams for IEC 61850 substations
  • Prepare protective relay coordination studies
  • Develop relay settings from 34.5 kV through 500 kV, including set points, logic diagrams, configuration files, and documentation
  • Solve complex substation engineering problems
  • Support project planning activities through design and construction support
  • Work directly with clients and collaborate with staff in remote office locations

Qualifications:
  • Experience creating relay settings and logic diagrams
  • Proficient in Aspen OneLiner and/or Siemens CAPE for coordination studies and fault analysis
  • Experience developing relay settings for microprocessor relays, including SEL, Alstom, GE, ABB, and others
  • Experience with both transmission line relays (line differential, step distance, and pilot schemes) and substation relays (capacitors, transformers, and buses)
  • Experience implementing control and protection schemes, including interpreting schematics and wiring diagrams and preparing relay logic
  • Familiarity with PTC Mathcad software
  • Previous Quality Assurance/Quality Control experience
  • Experience preparing technical reports
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for interfacing with clients and staff
  • Strong engineering and interpersonal skills with high attention to detail

Senior Level: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with four or more years of related experience or Lead Level: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with eight or more years of related experience
