Aquatech has an immediate need for a full-time Microelectronics Project Engineer to support global semiconductor, advanced packaging, solar manufacturing, and data center projects. This role is responsible for supporting technical execution, engineering coordination, project delivery, startup readiness, and operational success for highly complex industrial utility systems associated with advanced manufacturing facilities. This can be a fully remote job.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Microelectronics Project Manager / Execution Coordinator and multidisciplinary engineering teams to support engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, commissioning, startup, qualification, and operational turnover activities.
This role differs from a traditional Project Engineer position by requiring direct experience supporting advanced manufacturing or semiconductor-related industries along with strong multidisciplinary coordination and technical execution capabilities within highly schedule-driven and technically demanding environments.
- Support technical execution and coordination for microelectronics utility infrastructure projects.
- Work closely with the Project Manager / Execution Coordinator to support engineering integration, schedule alignment, issue resolution, and execution coordination.
- Coordinate activities between process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation & controls (I&C), automation, procurement, fabrication, construction, and startup teams.
- Review and support development of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), General Arrangements (GA), utility integration drawings, control philosophies, and startup documentation.
- Monitor engineering deliverables, action items, document status, and technical interfaces to support timely project execution.
- Support engineering reviews of vendor quotations, equipment submittals, purchase requisitions, and technical compliance evaluations.
- Coordinate responses to Requests for Information (RFIs), customer comments, and interdisciplinary technical issues.
- Support technical reviews including constructability reviews, operability reviews, maintainability reviews, and risk assessments.
- Assist in development and implementation of project standards, startup procedures, commissioning plans, checklists, and Best Known Methods (BKMs).
- Support field execution activities including installation reviews, field coordination, commissioning support, startup planning, and operational turnover.
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), integrated testing, and startup activities.
- Coordinate with construction teams, startup teams, operations personnel, subcontractors, and customers.
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of technical and field execution issues.
- Support turnover package development, punch list tracking, and startup readiness activities.
- Assist with operational stabilization and system performance verification activities.
- Support accelerated startup schedules and schedule recovery efforts as required.
- Interface directly with customers, vendors, engineering organizations, and construction teams.
- Work effectively within matrix organizations across multiple disciplines and geographies.
- Participate in customer meetings, technical reviews, startup meetings, and execution planning sessions.
- Support coordination between global engineering centers, fabrication teams, site teams, and execution organizations.
- Maintain strong communication and collaboration across project stakeholders.
- Support development of repeatable microelectronics execution methodologies and organizational best practices.
This position differs from a traditional Project Engineer role by focusing heavily on semiconductor and advanced manufacturing project execution, multidisciplinary engineering coordination, startup and operational readiness support, and technical integration across engineering, construction, startup, and operations organizations.
