fab2 was founded by Sam Zeloof and Jim Keller. Sam is best known for making chips in his garage, and Jim has been a leader in the semiconductor industry for the past 40 years.
About the roleWe’re hiring embedded software interns for the summer term to write the firmware and applications that run our fabs. The internship begins in May or June, with a preferred commitment of 4 to 8 months. You’ll be working on an integrated engineering team building semiconductor fabrication equipment, so you’ll be exposed to some very interesting engineering problems. You’ll be bringing up high-performance tools with tight requirements in areas such as structures, optics, liquids, heat transfer, physics, and chemistry. You’ll be a good fit if you’re familiar with end-to-end system bring-up.

ResponsibilitiesWe’re an early-stage hardware startup with solid funding, world-class advisors, and labs/offices in Austin, TX, Lockhart, TX, and San Francisco, CA. fab2 is committed to fair and equitable compensation. Software Interns are paid hourly, at a rate equivalent to an annualized range of $114,000–$131,000 depending on experience and education. Actual earnings vary with hours worked.
