Job description


The Microbiologist ensures compliance with company policies, procedures and specifications in accordance with related SOPs, applicable state, federal and local laws. This position is part of a highly visible operational Quality Assurance team and they must be well versed in all relevant company procedures and policies, GLP/GDP and safety and FDA regulations (as applicable).

*This position is for our newly built pharmacy in Arizona

Essential Job Duties:

  • Conducts sample collection, incubation, review, and identification of environmental monitoring and process verification samples, and prepares microbiological samples for external identification.
  • Updates datasets, performs media release testing, conducts peer reviews, trends data, and maintains laboratory logbooks.
  • Maintains cleanliness, performs inventory checks, manages policies and procedures, and coordinates equipment maintenance and calibration.
  • Conducts investigations, implements corrective actions, reviews reports, and participates in employee training as required by Microbiology Management.

*Other job duties and special projects as assigned.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in a life science or related field of study.1-2 years of related experience.
  • Previous experience in operating and adjusting various equipment for purposes such as performing standardized test or operations, requiring considerable training and experience. Ability to apply independent judgment regarding what needs to be done based on standard choices required. Must be able to recognize the existence of and difference among easily recognizable situations with respect to information or transactions available.
  • Superior and proven written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, and priority setting.
