Job description

We’re looking for someone who enjoys contributing to an innovative, forward-thinking team and who can always keep the end user in mind.

Manufacturing Engineer is a precision-oriented professional with highly developed technical understanding/skills and the ability to work efficiently and within budget. The successful candidate’s primary function and role will deal with the conception, design and development of new products and equipment. They will serve as liaison between the creative professionals on each project and the engineering manufacturing department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: 

  • Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials;
  • Organize and plan for transition of new products from prototyping to production
  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Drafting work instructions and revising as required for production processes.
  • Performs these and other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

  • Strong organizational, analytical and communication skills
  • Proficient with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office programs
  • CAD capabilities required
  • Knowledge of metal and plastic working processes.  For example; welding/soldering, machining (conventional & CNC), sheet metal fabrication, laser cutting, metal finishing, tube bending.  Including use of the equipment to perform the above processes is a plus
  • Ability to read & interpret shop drawings/sketches to best meet the customer expectations.
  • 5S knowledge very helpful

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Degree in manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical engineering preferred.

3+ years of experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering preferred.
