Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Location: Rochester, NY – Multiple Residential Program Sites
Department: Residential Services / Clinical Supports
Reports To: Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Starting Wage: $25-$30 per hour

Your Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide occupational therapy services under the supervision of an OTR, including initial and annual assessments, treatment, and progress reporting.
  • Develop and implement goals and objectives for inclusion in Individual Program Plans (IPP), collaborating with the Interdisciplinary Team (IT).
  • Deliver therapy to preserve and improve motor skills, mobility, daily living skills, and independence, while preventing progressive disabilities.
  • Ensure integration of OT services with Day Programs and community supports when appropriate.
  • Participate in all IT meetings, reviews, and staff development sessions.
  • Maintain documentation including progress notes, monthly summaries, and clinical reports.
  • Collaborate with OTR to identify and request necessary equipment and supplies.
  • Provide consultation and clinical supervision to IT members, students, and volunteers as required.
 

What You Bring:

  • Current NYS license and registration as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
  • One (1) year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to person-centered care and supporting individuals in achieving independence.
