Aquinas Consulting is hiring a contract to hire Micro-Welder (Conduction OD Welding โ€“ Stainless Steel) for our client located in Fairfield County, CT.

ย Job Summary

The Micro-Welder is responsible for performing precision outer diameter (OD) conduction welds on stainless steel free plates of varying diameters using low-amperage, semi-automatic TIG welding equipment with plasma pulse capability. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, steady hand coordination, and the ability to produce high-quality welds that meet strict dimensional and cosmetic standards.

Key Responsibilities

โ€ข Perform precision OD conduction welds on stainless steel components and free plates of various diameters.

โ€ข Operate low-amperage, semi-automatic TIG welding equipment with plasma pulse functionality.

โ€ข Set up, adjust, and fine-tune welding parameters including amperage, pulse settings, gas flow, and travel speed.

โ€ข Maintain weld quality to meet engineering drawings, specifications, and internal quality standards.

โ€ข Inspect welds visually and with measuring tools to ensure compliance with dimensional and cosmetic requirements.

โ€ข Work with thin-wall and small-diameter stainless steel materials requiring micro-welding techniques.

โ€ข Maintain a clean and organized workstation in accordance with safety standards laid out in company handbook.

โ€ข Follow all safety protocols and proper PPE requirements.

โ€ข Document production work, settings, and quality results as required.

โ€ข Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve welding or process issues.

Qualifications

โ€ข High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in welding is a plus but not required.

โ€ข experience in precision or micro TIG welding is beneficial, but training will be offered.

โ€ข Experience welding stainless steel with low amperage settings is also beneficial, but not required.

โ€ข Familiarity with plasma pulse welding processes.

โ€ข Attention to detail and wiliness to learn.

โ€ข Patience and competency on complicated, but highly repetitive tasks.

โ€ข Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

โ€ข Ability to work under magnification (microscope or magnifying lens) when required.

โ€ข Capability of learning weld setups and heat control while welding thin materials.

Preferred Qualifications

โ€ข Experience with OD conduction welding processes.

โ€ข Experience working in medical device, aerospace, or high-precision manufacturing environments.

โ€ข Certification in TIG welding (e.g., AWS or equivalent).

โ€ข Experience with semi-automatic or automated welding systems. (medical assembly or aerospace are good backgrounds)
