About this position:

LMCU is looking for a Market Leader who is charged with developing high performing teams responsible for executing the strategic growth plans of the credit union. They have direct leadership for the Retail Branch team driving growth within their market ensuring service excellence and operational efficiency. This role has a strong focus on building and maintaining LMCU's presence in the community, enhancing both business and member relationships, and leading the branch team to achieve established goals. The Branch Market Leader will be an advocate for LMCU's values, ensuring that service standards are met fostering a culture of collaboration and performance across all lines of business throughout the credit union.

What you'll do:

Growth

  • Strategically drive growth by aligning team efforts with LMCU's objectives, fostering a performance-oriented culture focused on achieving results
  • Create a consultative member experience by matching member needs with LMCU solutions, enhancing satisfaction and deepening relationships
  • Represent LMCU's brand and strengthen its presence in the community through intentional involvement in networking and community activities that align with LMCU's foundational values
  • Actively engage with business members, building and nurturing long-term relationships through education, proactive solutions, and personalized service
  • Set and communicate clear goals for future growth, taking necessary actions to achieve desired outcomes and rallying the team toward these objectives despite challenges
  • Hold both yourself and the team accountable for achieving the results aligned with LMCU's vision, ensuring continuous progress and successful outcomes
  • Align with business leaders across the organization sharing best practices leading to increased bidirectional referrals growing all lines of business

Leadership Development & Team Performance Management

Member Experience & Relationship Management

  • Be strategically active in local communities generating new member acquisition and increasing market share

  • Educate members and staff on enhancing financial well-being, promoting LMCU products and services as solutions to meet member needs
  • Review branch loan applications, ensuring quality and identifying opportunities for cross-selling and member solutions

Operational Oversight & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with LMCU's policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards
  • Provide coaching to teams continuously striving for service delivery excellence, operational effectiveness accuracy
  • Build capacity by identifying opportunities to reduce friction in processes sharing with the appropriate stakeholders ensuring scalable efficient systems
  • Champion LMCU's vision and objectives by effectively communicating with teams and stakeholders
  • Lead outcome driven, problem-solving initiatives, empowering the team to approach challenges as opportunities for creative solutions

What you'll bring:

  • 3-5 years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
  • College degree or commensurate banking experience preferred.
  • Michigan Resident Producer Credit Insurance License required for all Michigan-based employees. External candidates without current licensure must successfully complete the licensing examination and provide proof of certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Registered through NMLS and notary certification as required.
  • Extensive knowledge of financial industry products and service.
  • Proven ability to meet sales targets and contribute to branch goals in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
  • Strong leadership and mentorship capabilities, with a track record of coaching peers and building collaborative team environments.
