Their responsibilities include providing psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families under the supervision of a licensed MFT. They work in various settings, such as private practices, community mental health centers, or hospitals. What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an MFT Associate?

To thrive as an MFT Associate, you need a master's degree in marriage and family therapy or a closely related field, state registration as an Associate, and foundational knowledge in psychotherapy and systemic family dynamics.
