Position Overview

Addiction Therapy Services is seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our vibrant team in Danbury, Connecticut. Work Environment

You will be joining a team of mental health professionals that values a supportive and cooperative workplace. Our outpatient facility in Danbury allows for seamless integration with remote work, providing flexibility while maintaining a team-first ethos. Working hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., allowing for a balanced professional life and personal time. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial evaluations to assess the intensity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms in clients, developing an understanding of their unique circumstances.
• Collaborate with clients to create individualized treatment plans tailored to their specific goals and preferences, regularly reviewing these plans to ensure they remain effective and relevant.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic methodologies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), adapting approaches based on client progress and feedback.
• Provide education and supportive resources about mood disorders, treatment options, and self-care practices, empowering clients and their families throughout their recovery process.
• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of client sessions and treatment progress according to legal and ethical standards, ensuring compliance with state regulations.
• Work collaboratively with a team of psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care and comprehensive treatment strategies for clients.
• Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in mood disorder treatment to continually enhance therapeutic practices.
• Engage in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development opportunities to stay connected with industry best practices.
• Advocate for clients’ mental health needs, helping to reduce stigma and promote awareness within the community.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role focuses primarily on clients coping with mood disorders and addiction issues. You will be working with a diverse population, including individuals from various backgrounds, and ages experiencing mental health challenges. Your compassionate support will aid clients in navigating their emotions and developing healthier coping strategies.

Qualifications

• A current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
• A Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills that foster trust and security within the therapeutic relationship.
• A nonjudgmental, empathetic approach towards client experiences, demonstrating compassion and understanding.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage caseloads effectively and meet administrative requirements.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in providing treatment for mood disorders and addiction, preferably in an outpatient setting.
• Familiarity with clinical documentation systems and electronic health records.
• Previous engagement or training in evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including CBT and DBT.

Compensation and Benefits

• Annual salary range of USD 90,000 to 100,000, based on qualifications and experience.
