Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments to evaluate the intensity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms in clients.
  • Collaborating with clients to create tailored treatment plans that align with their unique goals and preferences.
  • Implementing evidence-based therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to ensure effective treatment.
  • Educating and supporting clients and their families on mood disorders, treatment options, and self-care techniques.
  • Monitoring and documenting client progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
  • Coordinating with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care for comprehensive treatment.
  • Staying abreast of advancements in mood disorder research to enhance therapeutic practices and outcomes.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Participating in case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development activities.
  • Actively advocating for clients’ mental health needs and addressing the stigma associated with mental health challenges.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work primarily with individuals experiencing mood disorders, including depression, anxiety, and related conditions. Your role will involve engaging with diverse populations and understanding their unique experiences and challenges. Your empathetic approach will foster therapeutic relationships that empower clients during their recovery journey.

Qualifications
  • Must possess a current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
  • A Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field is required.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building strong therapeutic relationships with clients.
  • Commitment to approaching clients with empathy and a nonjudgmental attitude toward their experiences.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to effectively balance therapy sessions and administrative responsibilities.
Preferred Experience

We value experience that includes treatment of mood disorders and working within community health settings. Experience with evidence-based modalities such as CBT and DBT will be a plus. Additionally, any prior involvement in advocacy efforts related to mental health awareness will enhance your application.

Compensation and Benefits
