Job Description

This Manufacturing Engineer will oversee all technical and operational aspects of the existing company production line equipment, will be responsible for increasing operating efficiency and holds the overall responsibility for the design, specification, sourcing and procurement, installation and process procedures for all new production equipment for the company.

He or She will:

1. Evaluate existing company's manufacturing processes and equipment by reviewing all equipment supplier manuals and manufacturing operating instructions, processes and procedures. Develop and design process and procedures or change existing practices as necessary to improve operating efficiencies. 

2. Establish quality control procedures to ensure that all production output meets defined quality standards. Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished-product and in-process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.

3. Develop and deliver operator training programs to ensure operator compliance with approved procedures. 

4. Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements. Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. 

5. Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.

6. Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout by applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.

7. Provide manufacturing engineering information and technical support by answering questions and requests from operators and others as required.

8. Keep equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service. Review and ensure the completeness of the detailed preventative maintenance program for all company equipment. Oversee the compliance of our selected manufacturing partner with all preventative maintenance requirements. Make necessary changes in the preventative maintenance program as required based upon operating experiences and events. programs.

9. Use experience and engineering knowledge to develop equipment specifications for new equipment and production lines. Identify potential suppliers and sources of equipment. Deliver equipment specifications and requests for quotation as necessary to provide a competitive bid environment. Develop project schedules to support the readiness of equipment to meet market requirements.

10. Respond to all vendor requests for information and evaluate all submitted proposals for conformance to specifications. Make recommendations to management based upon technical and economic factors as well as other factors such as serviceability and safety.

11. Oversee the selected equipment suppliers during the production phase to ensure compliance to project schedules and cost milestones.

12. Develop all acceptance criteria and perform Factory and Site Acceptance Testing as necessary to ensure full vendor compliance. Oversee installation and the introduction of the new manufacturing equipment into the selected manufacturer's facilities. De-bug and oversee start up of equipment and the transfer of operational responsibility to the selected manufacturer.

13. Maintain product and process data base by writing computer programs; entering data. Complete design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.

14. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

15. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. 

Qualifications

1. BS in Engineering

2. Atleast Ten (10) years of experience in consumer products or related industry with at least 3 years of direct managerial experience of developing and bringing consumer products to market
