Duration: 12 Months Contract
Pay Rate: $56.81/hr on W2
SHIFT: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
Travel up to 25% travel between Chula Vista, CA - Riverside, CA - San Marcos, TX - Foley, AL - Mexicali, MX
Job Description:
• Provide daily shop floor engineering support to ensure manufacturing flow, resolve issues, and maintain production schedules.
• Lead and support process standardization, optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives across fabrication and assembly operations.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Quality, and Operations to disposition nonconformances, implement corrective actions, and maintain configuration control.
• Apply lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste, improve throughput, and enhance process stability.
• Support development and updates of manufacturing plans, standard work, tooling requirements, and process documentation.
• Leverage digital manufacturing tools for process analysis, model interrogation, and configuration management.
• Coordinate and support activities across both the Riverside and Chula Vista facilities, requiring regular inter-site travel.
Required Qualifications
• B.S. in a relevant engineering subject (Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, or other)
• 3+ years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer within an aerospace production environment.
• Hands-on experience with metallic and/or composite fabrication, assembly processes, and engineering support on the shop floor.
• Demonstrated proficiency applying lean manufacturing principles and structured problem solving methods (e.g., RCCA, 5 Why, fishbone, kaizen).
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross functionally and influence without authority.
• Ability to travel frequently between Collins Aerospace sites (up to 30%).
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience using CATIA, Teamcenter, SAP, and Solumina.
• Experience with composite material systems, bond processes and equipment.
• Prior work supporting nacelle or aircraft structures production environments.
