What You ll Do

As a Veterinary Ophthalmology Technician Assistant at MVA, you ll assist our Ophthalmology Technicians and the entire care team in diagnosing and managing various eye conditions. Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting and assisting specialty departments with daily patient care

• Providing patient care responsibilities including husbandry, laundry, walking dogs, and cleaning cages

• Restraining and handling canine and feline patients safely and confidently
• Communicating clearly and professionally with clients and team members (both verbal and written)
• Stocking supplies and maintaining cleanliness in treatment and diagnostic areas
• Help ensure overall hospital cleanliness and organization

Anticipated Schedule

This is a full-time position.

• Tuesday - Friday 7:00am - 5:00pm

Compensation

• Starting at $19.00/hour

What We re Looking For We re seeking Veterinary Ophthalmology Technician Assistants who excel in a specialized environment and find fulfillment in helping pets maintain optimal vision. You likely have:

• Experience in a specialty or advanced general practice prior ophthalmology exposure is a plus
• Strong clinical skills
• Excellent attention to detail, particularly in observing subtle changes in ocular health and documenting findings
• Effective communication skills for conveying important information to the veterinary team and ensuring smooth workflow
• A team-oriented attitude, thriving in collaborative settings alongside veterinarians, fellow technicians, and support staff
