Job Description:
The ideal candidate possesses strong blueprint reading and metrology skills, experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), and a thorough understanding of quality inspection techniques in a manufacturing environment. You will work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Production personnel to identify quality concerns, support corrective actions, and ensure product conformity throughout the manufacturing process.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Perform receiving, in-process, first article, and final inspections on machined components and assemblies.
  • Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to verify dimensional compliance with engineering specifications.
  • Create, modify, and execute CMM inspection programs, as required.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
  • Utilize precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, thread gauges, dial indicators, and other inspection equipment.
  • Conduct inspections, testing, and sampling activities to ensure compliance with customer, engineering, and quality requirements.
  • Complete and maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation.
  • Identify, document, and segregate nonconforming materials and products.
  • Assist with root cause investigations and corrective action activities.
  • Support containment activities related to internal and customer quality concerns.
  • Perform traceability activities and maintain quality records in accordance with company and customer requirements.
  • Support gauge control and calibration activities.
  • Assist with First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and customer documentation requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities focused on quality and process capability.
  • Communicate quality concerns and inspection findings to production, engineering, and quality leadership.
  • Support plant quality and operational activities as needed.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical training in Manufacturing, Machining, Metrology, or Quality preferred.
  • Minimum two years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience inspecting CNC-machined components strongly preferred.
  • Experience operating CMM equipment and interpreting inspection reports preferred.
  • Experience with blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation required.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems preferred.
  • Combination of education, certification, and relevant experience may be considered.

Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge of precision measurement and inspection techniques
  • Experience operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and specifications
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Experience using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, and related metrology equipment
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems
  • Understanding of traceability requirements and quality documentation
  • Knowledge of statistical Process Control (SPC) methods
  • Gauge calibration knowledge
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization
