How much do metro janitor jobs pay per hour?

As of Jun 12, 2026, the average hourly pay for metro janitor in the United States is $15.89, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $13.70 and $17.55 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What jobs pay 2000 a day?

Jobs that can pay $2,000 a day include high-level roles such as specialized surgeons, corporate executives, or successful entrepreneurs. Some freelance or consulting positions in finance, law, or technology may also reach this level with significant experience and client base. These roles often require advanced skills, certifications, or extensive industry experience.

What are some typical challenges metro janitors face, and how can they effectively manage them?

Metro janitors often work in high-traffic environments where cleanliness must be maintained despite constant use by commuters. Common challenges include managing litter during peak hours, handling biohazard incidents safely, and responding promptly to spills or maintenance issues. Effective time management, familiarity with safety protocols, and strong communication with other maintenance staff are essential for success. Many teams use shift rotations and checklists to ensure thorough coverage and compliance with health regulations.

What qualifications do I need to be a janitor?

To be a metro janitor, you typically need a high school diploma or equivalent. Basic skills in cleaning, attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to operate cleaning equipment are important; some positions may require background checks or safety training.

What job makes $10,000 a month without a degree?

A metro janitor typically does not earn $10,000 a month without a degree; most janitorial positions pay significantly less. High-paying cleaning or maintenance roles in specialized facilities or with additional skills may reach higher earnings, but such salaries are uncommon without advanced certifications or experience. Generally, jobs that pay $10,000 monthly without a degree are in sales, real estate, or entrepreneurship rather than janitorial work.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Metro Janitor, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Metro Janitor, you need knowledge of cleaning procedures, safe handling of chemicals, and often a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with industrial cleaning equipment, such as floor scrubbers and buffer machines, and adherence to safety protocols are typically required. Reliability, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are crucial soft skills. These competencies ensure that transit facilities remain clean, safe, and welcoming for passengers and staff.

What are Metro Janitors?

Metro Janitors are responsible for cleaning and maintaining the cleanliness of metro stations, trains, and related facilities. Their duties include sweeping, mopping, emptying trash bins, sanitizing restrooms, and ensuring public areas are tidy and safe for passengers. Metro Janitors play a crucial role in creating a pleasant and hygienic environment for commuters and staff. They may work various shifts, including nights and weekends, to keep metro services running smoothly. Attention to detail and the ability to work independently are important qualities for this job.

What is the highest paying janitorial job?

The highest paying janitorial jobs are often supervisory or management roles, such as janitorial supervisors or facilities managers, which can offer higher salaries due to increased responsibilities. Specialized cleaning positions, such as those requiring hazardous material handling or operating advanced cleaning equipment, may also command higher wages. Experience, certifications, and working in large or high-security facilities can further increase earning potential.

First Class Commercial Cleaning was founded by John Disselkamp, a UK Grad and native Louisvillian, back in January of 2016 with hardly a penny in the bank and nothing but a mop, a couple rags, and a bottle of windex he bought at Wal-Mart.  From those very humble beginnings a short 8 years ago to today where we are fortunate enough to serve 300 families and 127 mid to large commercial facilities, John attributes that growth to the simple things: Treating people well and Working Hard.  He also believes First Class' extreme focus on relationships and communication has played a pivotal role in our ability to service our customers.
