Currently we are looking for a Custodian at our Metro-Transit location here in Akron, Ohio.

Summary/Objective

Responsible for providing janitorial and grounds maintenance services at rest areas operated by the Ohio Department of Transportation

Major Work Duties

Essential Job Functions

  • Use approved chemicals clean, sanitize and stock restrooms and common areas
  • Empty all trash bins
  • Sweep and mop
  • Dust and vacuum
  • Wash windows
  • Remove debris (indoors and outdoors)
  • Mow using a push mower or a riding tractor
  • Trim around flowerbeds and obstacles
  • Weed flower beds
  • Rake
  • Sweep walkways
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of this position
  • Must follow all OSHA safety regulations
  • Must possess a positive customer service attitude and image
  • Must be willing to work as a team member
  • Follow instructions
  • Handle change in routines
  • Display appropriate socialization at all times
