Job description

Location:

  • Virginia Beach, VA; Candidate must be located in the Hampton Roads area

Job Summary:

  • Reporting directly to the Metro Elevator Virginia Modernization Manager, the Modernization Supervisor will play a key role in the division's day-to-day operations. Their job responsibilities include scheduling, planning, and preparing various tasks while maintaining a strong focus on organizational excellence and customer relations. This position requires a proactive individual who excels in time management and possesses computer proficiency to enhance overall productivity and operational effectiveness. Management experience required and elevator experience preferred.

Job Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

  • Scheduling and Planning: Develop and manage schedules for tasks, projects, and elevator technicians, ensuring efficient utilization of time and optimizing workforce allocation. Collaborate with department heads to create timelines and deadlines for various projects.
  • Job Preparation: Oversee the preparation and coordination of resources, materials, and personnel required for specific projects. Ensure all necessary tools and equipment are available, and team members are well-informed about their responsibilities.
  • Customer Relations: Foster positive relationships with customers and clients to ensure their satisfaction and address any concerns or issues promptly. Proactively seek feedback to improve service quality and maintain strong customer retention.
  • Operations Efficiency: Analyze current operational processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance overall efficiency and productivity. This includes time approval of field technicians.
  • Project Coordination: Oversee and coordinate necessary tasks and field technicians for large elevator repair projects. Collaborate with leadership to ensure all projects are on time and on budget.
  • Quality Control: Monitor and maintain performance quality standards, ensuring all processes and deliverables meet or exceed expectations. Address any quality issues promptly and collaboratively with relevant stakeholders. This includes testing coordination and tracking of each project.
  • Safety Champion: Promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization. Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement safety protocols, policies, and training programs. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in business management, operations, or a related role.
  • 3+ years of management or leadership experience preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in using various computer software and tools.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with team members, field technicians, and customers.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities to drive teams and operations towards success.
