Scope:
  • A Methods Engineer must be capable of converting information from customer data files, fabrication drawings, customer and industry specifications, purchase orders and other sources into instructions to manufacture printed circuit boards. A consistently high level of technical knowledge of manufacturing process steps and current capabilities, electronic data, lamination stack-ups, impedance modeling, tooling methodologies for blind, buried and micro-vias, advanced technology methods, industry standards and customer specifications is required for the job. A high degree of attention to detail and a superior quality ethic are essential.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for timely and error free work on a daily basis as assigned.
  • Read, understand, and interpret, drawings, specifications and other documentation provided to assess requirements for each individual job.
  • Review and analyze electronic data to determine the requirements of the design.
  • Calculate lamination construction.
  • Model and calculate impedance requirements for the PCB including stripline, differential, and broadside using specified software.
  • Interface with customers, the quote team, customer service and process engineering.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrated degree of proficiency with mathematics, computers, ability to interpret and understand fabrication drawings, specifications and other written technical instructions is required.
  • Computer Skills - Basic understanding of Windows operating systems. Proficiency with Genesis software is preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, must speak, read, and write English fluently.
  • Ability to interpret complex technical statements on drawings and in other written instructions and convey clear statements of instructions to create tooling and to manufacture printed circuit boards.
  • Advanced mathematical skills and reasoning ability is required. Demonstrated skills at conversion of Metric and English measurements and interpretation of drawing dimensions is required.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or related field
  • 2+ years experience in PCBs or related field

Compensation for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience. As required by local law, TTM provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in New York, California and Colorado. For California-based roles, compensation ranges are based upon specific physical locations.
