Now Offering a Limited-Time $20,000 RN Sign-On Bonus!UnityPoint Health – Des Moines is offering a $20,000 sign-on bonus for full-time eligible RNs (Including Residents) hired or offered into acute inpatient roles between April 1 and July 31, 2026, paid in milestone-based installments.

Relocation Assistance: Up to $10,000 for full-time offers when relocating more than 50 miles.

Iowa Methodist Medical Center

Schedule: Days 6:30a - 5p, Nights 8:30pm-7a, Weekend Package 6:30am-7pm Saturday and Sunday (Nights and weekend package requires minimum 1 year OR experience)

Call: Must report within 30 minutes when called in

Responsibilities
  • Assesses the needs of patients and families, providing appropriate teaching and making the necessary referrals to provide continuity of care. 
  • Develops an individual plan of care using a collaborative approach with the patient/family and health care team. 
  • Promptly completes documentation to assure an accurate legal record of patient’s care. 
  • Delivers high quality care utilizing the nursing process while demonstrating knowledge and clinical skills of the perioperative specialty in accordance with established policies, procedures and standards of care. 
  • Utilizes holistic approach (considering biopsychosocial, spiritual, educational, safety, and related criteria) appropriate to the age of the patients and families served in the assigned service area. 
  • Delegates and provides direction for other healthcare team members within their scope of practice and holds them accountable for their involvement in the plan of care. 
  • Utilizes critical thinking in developing nursing interventions while maintaining responsibility and accountability for the knowledge of conditions of assigned patients. 
Qualifications

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or IA Board of Nursing approved nursing program. 

License(s)/Certification(s):

  • Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa 

Experience:

  • Minimum of twelve months acute RN experience.
    • All newly licensed RNs or RNs with less than 12 months of acute RN experience and who are interested in this department or any other Acute RN role within UnityPoint Health – Des Moines, are required to participate in the RN Residency program. Other: 

  • Level 3 Medium Work:  Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • On-Call: Ability to participate in on-call shifts and respond within 30 minutes when called in.
