Operations Manager

Location: Phoenix, AZ


Job Summary

The Process Planner will serve as a key operations liaison between Product Management, Product Leadership, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams. This role is responsible for translating product demand and business priorities into executable production plans while ensuring alignment with factory capabilities, cost, quality, schedule, and delivery objectives.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in manufacturing operations, production planning, capacity planning, operational readiness, and cross-functional problem solving. This position will support the product lifecycle from long-range planning and transition to production through daily manufacturing execution.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary operations liaison to Product Managers and Product Leadership, owning operational commitments and supporting customer, program, and business objectives.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure product commitments are realistic, executable, and aligned with factory capabilities.
  • Balance operational priorities across cost, quality, schedule, capacity, and delivery requirements.
  • Translate demand, customer requirements, and business priorities into integrated production and execution plans.
  • Drive operational readiness and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including long-range planning, transition-to-production, and daily manufacturing operations.
  • Develop and maintain production plans supporting key product lifecycle gates, program milestones, and operational readiness reviews.
  • Lead recovery planning for production delays, capacity constraints, material shortages, and other operational challenges.
  • Drive cross-functional issue resolution and risk mitigation in partnership with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Management.
  • Monitor production and execution performance and provide visibility into status, risks, constraints, and recovery actions.
  • Support NPI readiness, prototype builds, production launches, and transition-to-production activities as required.
  • Provide operational inputs for capacity planning, demand forecasts, production schedules, and program reviews.
  • Identify factory constraints, bottlenecks, resource requirements, and potential impacts to production commitments.
  • Coordinate priorities across multiple teams to ensure manufacturing plans remain aligned with changing business and customer requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve operational efficiency, productivity, quality, cost, and delivery performance.
  • Maintain accurate planning and operational documentation in accordance with company and manufacturing requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, process planning, production planning, operations planning, manufacturing engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing and production operations.
  • Experience with production planning, capacity planning, scheduling, and operational execution.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and resolving manufacturing or operational issues.
  • Experience supporting NPI, production readiness, product launches, or transition-to-production activities.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, electronics, or other complex manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with factory operations, production recovery planning, and manufacturing readiness.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience working with Product Management, Program Management, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain organizations.
  • Experience with SAP, Oracle, or other ERP/MRP systems.
