As a Manufacturing Methods Engineer, you will shape the way our advanced defense systems are built, ensuring efficient, high quality production that supports critical national security objectives. Your expertise will directly influence the reliability and performance of mission critical hardware delivered to our customers.
THEWORK
The Manufacturing Methods Engineer is responsible for developing and optimizing assembly processes, creating clear documentation, and supporting operators across multiple programs. Working closely with design engineering, procurement, and program management, you will drive continuous improvement and ensure manufacturing readiness for high visibility defense platforms.
In this role you will:
Develop and refine assembly processes, incorporating Lean Manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and reduce cost.
Write concise, complete process instructions and production documentation, ensuring alignment with engineering drawings and models.
Collaborate with production, design engineering, procurement, program management, and manufacturing personnel to address production challenges and recommend solutions.
Investigate production problems, evaluate materials, and propose modifications to processes or tooling to enhance quality and meet manufacturing conditions.
Design and assist in the development of tooling, including concepts for welding, brazing, painting, and finishing operations where applicable.
Operate and program automated equipment, and utilize cranes, lifts, and hoists to support assembly of large structures, wiring, cabling, coax, fiber optics, and soldering to IPC J Std.
Lead training initiatives, independently instructing and mentoring personnel on new processes and experimental work to drive cost reductions and quality improvements.
Apply Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and standard Microsoft Office tools to support process development and data analysis.
Please Note: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
WHO YOU ARE
You are a proactive engineer with strong analytical skills, capable of translating complex designs into efficient manufacturing methods. You excel at communicating across functions, leading training, and applying Lean principles to drive continuous improvement.
This is an early to mid-career level role and candidates typically have 3 to 5 years of professional experience.
