Tunista Logistics Solutions LLC Regular Tunista Logistics Solutions (TLS), a Yulista-owned company, provides comprehensive base operations and facility support services. TLS specializes in air combat training systems, logistics management, furnishing and office support, range maintenance, fire and emergency services, armed security, airfield operations, civil and environmental engineering, fuels, and more. At Rock Island Arsenal, a 946-acre National Historic Landmark located on the Mississippi River between Davenport, IA, and Rock Island, IL, TLS supports a wide range of facility maintenance operations for over 6,500 personnel across multiple U.S. Army commands. Scope of Work: Provide base operations support through the performance of general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings at the Rock Island Arsenal project site. Responsibilities: * Replace electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors
* Use plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings
* Repair or replace sinks, water coolers, and toilets painting structures and equipment
* Repair or replace concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks, and replace damaged paneling and floor tiles
* Hang doors and install door locks
* Replace broken windowpanes
* Set up displays
* Install signs
* Set up chairs and podiums; move furniture, partitions, and equipment
* Grease or lube doors, office furniture, or equipment
* Pick up recycled paper and material
* Replace ceiling tiles
* Read and record meter readings
* Inspect stationary and portable eye-wash stations
* Mop water from leaks or excess rain, remove or install covers and uncovers window unit air conditioners
* Install carpet runners
* Clean and inspect sump pumps and grease traps
* Perform general cleaning, sweep, pick up work area, and remove unused materials
* Clean windows, light fixtures, and glass objects ahead of cleaning team
* Assist higher-level Mechanics or Journeymen in performance of more complex tasks and performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery
* Perform all other duties as assigned Minimum Requirements: * The work of the General Maintenance Worker requires practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work.
* As required, employees of this position shall be trained/certified IAW National Board Inspection Code and have a minimum of 4 years of experience in building maintenance and inspection.
* Possess the ability to use aerial bucket truck, man lifts, and climb ladders.
* May be required to handle or transport hazardous waste and chemicals.
* Possess and maintain a valid State Driver's License, as required by the position.
* Have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy, to operate a company vehicle.
* Be able to successfully complete pre-employment screening - to include Motor Vehicle Record check.
* Have a practical knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards, and standard safety practices.
* Be able to perform duties under adverse weather conditions (extreme heat/cold, etc.) outside work in winter, summer, rain, sleet, and snow and on uneven terrain - side hills and slopes.
* Physically fit to bend, stoop, and lift in awkward positions and up to 60 lbs. Maximum lifting capacity per employee is 40 lbs.; team lifting or mechanical means is required thereafter.
* Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, reaching above shoulder level, and kneeling. Occasional crawling and climbing.
* Ability in confined spaces such as manholes, steam tunnels, and pump stations.
* Ability to work in a team or alone and be able to change jobs on short notice.
* Be able to work alternate and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the mission requirements of the customer - to include weekends and holidays.
