POSITION PROFILE
Respond to all engineering service calls, giving priority to guest requests, and maintain hotel equipment in an efficient, safe, accident-free manner. Ensure a safe, resourceful, and well-maintained hotel environment.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILTIES
  • Respond to and handle guest requests in a courteous, efficient, safe manner.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and necessary repairs on all hotel equipment, including kitchen, laundry, boiler, plumbing, pool, HVAC, electrical and guest rooms.
  • Take water samples of boiler, loop, and cooling tower systems and treat the water to maintain predetermined levels of chemical concentration.
  • Operate various equipment; maintain the domestic hot and cold-water systems and monitor various electrical switch gears to ensure proper operation.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and general maintenance duties in the engineering spaces as well as other assigned daily operations.
  • Make rounds of the hotel property to ensure everything is in working order.
  • Complete maintenance requests, take equipment and meter readings, and maintain log to notify the next shift.
  • Respond to all emergency situations including fire alarms, bomb threats, disasters and power failures; notify the appropriate authorities.
  • Handle operation of the boiler and chiller and maintaining temperatures throughout the building.
  • Assist with maintenance of parking lot and snow removal as needed.
  • Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • High school diploma or equivalent trade school, special courses in building maintenance and construction.
  • Ability to maintain and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing equipment and perform carpentry, repair work, construction and renovation work.
  • Communicate information and hotel services to management, staff and guests.
  • Two years prior experience in building maintenance and construction.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Lift/Push/Pull/Carry - up to 50 -75 plus lbs. supplies, equipment and machinery. Bending - required to perform inspections and repairs frequently throughout shift. Kneeling- required to perform inspections and repairs frequently throughout shift. Continuous movement throughout hotel required to respond quickly to emergency.
