Job description

Position Summary
This position provides all accounting, budgeting and forecasting services. Coordinates site or departmental annual and monthly budget process, assures correct accounting practices and reports on site or department financial condition to site, department and ES leadership. Perform detail and variance analysis. Maintains book of records for the site. Coordinate and monitor related ES service level agreements. This position is also responsible for purchasing, inventory control, payroll, planning, scheduling, plant operational reporting, and general administrative activities.
Essential Responsibilities

  • Materials procurement and management of $1,000,000 + inventory. Interface with sourcing department to negotiate competitive bid/process for materials/services. Vendor and Plant contract management. . Assist with outage coordination and material procurement. Monitor and manage inventory levels, including stock and non-stock identification, identifying obsolete material, physical location, cycle counting, and shipping. Timely receipt of materials, verification of accounting, and payment of associated invoicing.

  • Daily and monthly plant operational reporting and data entry into reporting mechanisms. Accuracy and timeliness is critical. Reporting includes BTU, Generator meter readings, Performance, RDF Fuel accumulation, Environmental and Substation.

  • Administrative Responsibilities: Plant records management system, Web site management, meeting and minutes preparation, back-up support for other RDF plants, payroll verification and processing for union, non-bargaining and exempt classifications.

  • Develop, coordinate and deliver O&M (2 yr.) and Capital (5 yr.) budget. Ensure that the interface with Corporate Accounting (JDE) is accurate. Assist in the development of long-range financial plans (15 years). Develop and coordinate the process for resource allocations for the 15-year plan by working with Asset Management and site personnel

  • Provide analysis of actual and/or historical financial results compared to budget. Provide specific expenditure information on a monthly basis using available established technology to access detail information. Facilitate department/Plant review to ensure financial performance is analyzed and communicated

  • Work with site personnel each month to forecast monthly to end of year spending on O&M and Capital expenditures. Ensure accurate forecast data has been transmitted to JDE each month.

  • Develop and conduct training and educational programs for site/area personnel on accounting, finance and budgeting policies and procedures and the use of associated financial systems.

  • Provide guidance to ensure consistent and accurate financial information. Represent GAAP and FERC accounting requirements to support compliance and successful audit results related to Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. Respond to financial data requests and oversee the non-financial data requests to support various rate cases and filings.


Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate's degree in accounting, finance or business-related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in various job-related areas including budgeting, accounting, business, financial analysis and/or business.
  • Working knowledge of financial/budgeting information systems (ES and Corp JDE, CBS, Concur, Passport, Maximo etc).
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
