Position Summary

We are seeking experienced Fiber Technicians to support large-scale data center operations involving fiber optic installation, testing, troubleshooting, validation, and structured cabling infrastructure.

This role is responsible for executing high-quality fiber work within active data center environments while maintaining strict adherence to customer standards, safety protocols, and production timelines. Technicians will work closely with operational leadership, testing teams, and field crews to ensure all fiber infrastructure is installed, documented, and validated accurately.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, highly organized, and experienced working in fast-paced mission-critical environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Install, route, dress, and secure fiber optic cabling within active data center environments

- Perform fiber optic terminations, splicing, and troubleshooting

- Conduct testing and validation using:

- OTDR

- Power meter/light source

- Fiber identifiers

- Continuity testing equipment

- Read and interpret:

- Prints and blueprints

- Rack elevations

- Fiber matrices

- Scope of work documentation

- Perform structured cabling installations in accordance with TIA/EIA and BICSI standards

- Label and document all fiber runs accurately per client standards

- Support pathway builds including tray work, innerduct, and routing systems

- Assist with rack-and-stack support and cabinet integration when required

- Maintain daily production reporting and closeout documentation

- Identify and communicate quality concerns, damage, or installation discrepancies immediately

- Work alongside testing and validation teams to ensure all infrastructure passes client acceptance standards

- Follow all OSHA, site safety, PPE, and customer compliance requirements

- Maintain clean and organized work areas in live production environments

Qualifications Required:

- 2+ years of experience in fiber optics, structured cabling, or data center environments

- Hands-on experience with:

- Fiber installation

- Fiber testing

- Fiber troubleshooting

- Structured cabling systems

- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and fiber layouts

- Experience working in live or mission-critical environments

- Strong understanding of fiber color codes and labeling standards

- Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and overhead pathways

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding environments

- Reliable transportation and ability to travel if required

Preferred:

- Experience in hyperscale or enterprise data centers

- Fusion splicing experience

- BICSI certification

- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification

- Experience with:

- Corning systems

- Panduit systems

- CommScope infrastructure

- Familiarity with customer quality standards and turnover packages
