Job Description:

Position Overview
Client is a university-wide technology organization that supports teaching, learning, research, innovation, and sustainability across Client University''s campuses. The Infrastructure Project Manager will provide project management services for telecommunications, networking, and infrastructure construction projects across the university.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
  • Manage multiple telecommunications and data communication infrastructure projects.
  • Coordinate day-to-day activities related to telecom and network infrastructure deployments.
  • Ensure projects are completed on schedule and according to university standards.
Procurement & Vendor Management
  • Prepare and distribute RFQs (Request for Quotations) and RFPs (Request for Proposals).
  • Review contractor/vendor proposals for accuracy and compliance.
  • Evaluate and qualify bidders.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors for new and existing services.
Design & Documentation
  • Develop and maintain project documentation.
  • Create telecom floor plans showing outlet locations.
  • Design telecom room layouts and infrastructure drawings.
  • Prepare project design prints using:
    • Microsoft Visio
    • AutoCAD
    • Microsoft Office Suite
Network & Infrastructure Coordination
  • Work with Network Services and Datacom Services teams.
  • Coordinate procurement and installation of:
    • Wireless Access Points (WAPs)
    • Network switches
    • Telecommunications equipment
    • Supporting infrastructure
Quality Assurance & Compliance
  • Conduct site visits and audits.
  • Ensure compliance with:
    • Client Telecom/Data Standards
    • Wiring Specifications
    • TIA Standards
    • BICSI Standards
    • National Electrical Code (NEC)
    • National Electrical Safety Code (NESC)
  • Drive process improvements and quality control initiatives.

Required Qualifications
Experience
  • High School Diploma plus 5+ years of experience in:
    • Telecommunications cabling projects
    • Data communication infrastructure projects
    • Copper twisted-pair cabling design and implementation
    • Fiber optic cabling (inside and outside plant)
    • Structured cabling systems

Certifications & Licenses
  • BICSI Certification
  • RCDD Certification (or ability to obtain within one year of hire)
  • Valid Driver''s License

Technical Skills
  • Experience with:
    • Aerial cabling design and installation
    • Underground cabling design and construction
    • Horizontal structured cabling systems
    • Client sizing, installation, and coordination
    • Data, voice, and CATV network infrastructures
  • Ability to:
    • Distinguish cable and wiring colors accurately
    • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and drawings
    • Prepare technical designs and documentation
  • Advanced proficiency with:
