Job description

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Under the direction of the Coating Division Manager, Supervisor, and Shift Lead prepare internal and external orders for the coating process by setting up and monitoring the coating machines. As part of their primary responsibilities, this individual will also be responsible for processing orders according to order routing, preparation of coating system, loading and unloading coating chamber, and performing preventative maintenance.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Visually inspects product for unacceptable coating conditions (following FR CO-2 Quality Planning for PVD Coating).
  • Loads product into coating fixtures, onto carousel and into coating chamber following production routing, customer specifications and manufacturing prints (following SOP 8.5.0.3 Operator Work Instructions for Coating, QM Inspection Plan PP-816, PP-807, QM Operating Instruction AN-AA-09-BS-01-BS-01-05 and AN-AA-09-BS-01-BS-01-04).
  • Visually inspects loads and maintains process control on equipment prior to loading (following CHART CO-4-8 Process Control Chart ? Coating Equipment)
  • Prepare coating chamber (in accordance with WI XXXX).
  • Input coating program for process.
  • Inspect finished product to verify quality coating.
  • Post all performed operations into SAP and manually sign off to verify completion of task.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of workstation and equipment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

No education is required. Preferred high school diploma or equivalent.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Ability to read, understand and follow written instructions such as S.O.P.?s, work instructions, technical documents, and manufacturing prints.
  • Ability to perform written communication
  • Knowledge of industrial cutting tools (e.g. drills, end mills, etc.) preferred, or related industry is desirable.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to use basic hand tools.
  • Previous experience with basic machine operation, metallurgy, coating processes, vacuum technology is desirable.
  • Ability to calculate appropriate machine settings and adjust accordingly.
  • Ability to operate Windows NT format to program machines.
  • Individual must have strong work ethic, be high-energy, and detail-oriented.
