2ND SHIFT TOOL & DIE MAKER NEEDED - HUDSON, INDIANA
A Leading Automotive Supplier in the Hudson, Indiana area needs a 2nd Shift Tool & Die Maker. This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Paid Vacation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Required to analyze, troubleshoot and repair tooling issues during the production run if necessary.
Operate Forklift, Die Cart and Overhead Crane moving tooling in a safe manner.
Perform preventative maintenance and process improvements on tooling between production runs using tool correction orders and last hit parts and strips.
Operate tool room machinery including mills, lathes, grinders, saws, drill press, etc. in a safe manner repairing and building details for tooling.
Help achieve corporate goals and measurables through continuous improvement of processes, safety and housekeeping initiatives.
Basic computer skills are required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Prefer high school diploma or the equivalent, completion of a certified 4-year apprenticeship program in Tool & Die, or eight years experience in related field.
Candidates should be experienced working with Progressive and Transfer Metal Stamping Dies.
Tool and Die Makers must be able to stand on the concrete floor for the duration of work shift, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, bend to floor. Will exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
Ability to visually inspect parts for quality, and for reading documents, machine gauges, and precision measuring instruments.
Ability to troubleshoot dies, handle press calls, respond to issues, troubleshoot & diagnose while on the press. TIG and MIG Welding skills are a plus.
Tool and Die Makers may be hired to work in a specific area, however, all Tool and Die makers are expected to be able to work in all production areas in order to promote productivity, quality and safety.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
